Mosaic
An art form made by arranging small pieces of colored glass, stone, or tile (called tesserae) to create images or patterns. Mosaics were often used to decorate walls, floors, and ceilings, especially in churches and public buildings. They can be very detailed and colorful, showing religious scenes or geometric designs.
